STUDENT LIFE
Clubs
Each club has its own unique purpose and goal, whether it’s providing opportunities to see a lecture in another community or to get together and go for a hike there’s something for everyone! Clubs of all sorts meet throughout the year, so you can either join an existing club or form a new one.
Recreational Activities
To help you blow off some steam between classes, the College of New Caledonia Students’ Union is happy to provide foosball tables in the Prince George campus cafeteria and TE Centre Members’ Lounge. Also, in the Members’ Lounge, we provide leather couches and chairs and a flat-screen TV! We are looking at adding more games and member-use equipment in the future – if you have a suggestion please let us know!
Bulletin Boards
Students, other members of the CNC community, recognized coalition partners and non-profit organizations may post on the boards at no charge after the items are dated and stamped at the Prince George & Quesnel campus offices. There is a fee of $5.00 per poster advertising business or commercial services.
Members Lounge
Your College of New Caledonia Students’ Union operates the Members’ Lounge. This lounge can be used by all members to relax, study, play foosball etc. Also, members can host special events. Lounge has to be booked prior to hosting any event through our office (Room 1-303). We also provide free coffee. Feel free to share any ideas or recommendations with any of our Executive directors or staff.
STUDENT SERVICES
Campus Microwaves
To help you warm up your lunch or hot chocolate on a cold winter day (or any other day for that matter). The students’ union purchases campus microwaves to be available in the cafeteria and common areas. Just remember to please be respectful and clean after use.
Food Bank
The Student Food Bank is intended for those who can’t afford to purchase food, and it is operated on the honour system (so, please don’t abuse this service). Whenever possible please help your fellow members out by donating boxed or canned food and other non-perishable food items. Every can counts!
Lockers
Have a lot of textbooks to drag around between classes? Not a problem! Starting each September your students’ union coordinates locker rentals on the Prince George & Quesnel campuses. Both half-size and full-size lockers are located on all 3 floors of the main building, and full-size lockers only are also available in the John A. Brink Trades & Technology Centre. Most of these lockers can be rented for up the entire academic year!
U-Pass
CNCSU has worked with the City of PG, City of Quesnel and BC Transit to get an amazing deal on transit and fitness. Your U-Pass grants you unlimited access to the PG & Quesnel Transit system as well as free entry to both aquatic centers in Prince George & Recreation Centre in Quesnel.
Contact CNCSU for more info.
