To the College of New Caledonia Students,

We are writing this letter to our students to discuss our plans on how we will be implementing the U-PASS system for our students this intersession. On May 4th, BC Transit announced that they will be resuming the collection of fares starting June 1st. This announcement brought many inquiries from students from both Prince George and Quesnel campuses.

Getting the U-PASS

We have taken into consideration many options on how we will re-implement the U-PASS program, and have decided that we will be handing them out of our office on June 1st and 2nd. We are fully aware of potential concerns regarding COVID-19 and social distancing and we will be putting into action a few rules that must be followed during this process.

  • Students must maintain at least a 6ft distance between themselves and others while in our office.
  • All prior stickers must be removed by students when having their U-PASS sticker replaced.
  • For the safety of students and the CNCSU team, any students who are showing any symptoms of being ill will be asked to leave and will not be serviced until they have recovered.

Opting Out

All students who are enrolled in the 2020 intersession will automatically be charged the U-PASS fee for the months of June to August. We understand that not all students wish to utilize public transit during this period. For this reason, we are going to be allowing U-PASS opt-outs for students who do not wish to utilize public transit. If you wish to opt-out, please fill out this opt-out form and email it to optout@cncsu.ca

If you have any further questions or concerns, please contact info@cncsu.ca

Sincerely.
